The Road to Salvation

The Road to Salvation is the pathway God has provided in His Word to become saved and to obtaining a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The basis of the Road to Salvation Prayer, sometimes referred to as the Sinner’s Prayer, is derived from Romans 10:9-10 (NIV): “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The Bible, which is the Word of God, generously provides all that we need to take those steps whereby we can be reconciled back to Him, which can come only through His Son Jesus Christ. “Jesus saith …, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 (KJV)

What The Bible Says...

About Sin

  • For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God - Romans 3:23 (NIV)

  • For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord - Romans 6:23 (KJV)

About GOD's Love

  • For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (KJV)

  • But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8 (NIV)

About Jesus and Salvation

  • For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. - John 3:17 (NIV)

  • For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved - Romans 10:13 (KJV)

  • If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. - Romans 10:9 (NIV)

About Confession

  • With the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth, he confesses, resulting in salvation. - Romans 10:10 (NASB)

  • If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - 1 John 1:9 (KJV)

If you would like to be saved, repeat these words:

"Lord Jesus, I realize that I am a sinner. I ask that you forgive me of all my sins I have done

of Jesus. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that God

raised Him from the dead".
